Drowning Room - True Love Always

This is the full length from upstate's Drowning Room entitled True Love Always. It was put out in 97 on Rhythym Den Productions and I've read that only 1,000 were pressed. I guess the title can throw you off and make you think its some boy band R&B crap but this is far from anything like that. I'll quote the Trip Machine Laboratories website for a better description (Also pick up the excellent The Divinity Syndrome repress while they still got em)
"This upsate NY band had a sound that bridged the gap between deathcore and melodic metal, while still showing their hardcore roots. Think Bloodlet and Starkweather crossed with Into Another and Black Sabbath. Members went on to play in Robots & Empire, Joshua and The Ataris."
I got this at the Hardcore Against Hunger show at Tramps in early 98. It was a benefit concert to raise funds for the expansion of Kapindra Swami's Hare Krishna Food Relief project. So many great bands played that day : Fahrenheit 451, CIV, Both Worlds, Burn, 25 Ta Life, Biohazard, Roguish Armament, Sub Zero, Crown of Thornz, Sick of it All, Maximum Penalty, Madball, Shutdown, V.O.D., plus an ex-Cro-Mag jam of course. The only thing that sucked was it was packed as all hell with no re-entry and the whole place stunk like krishna food which they were serving for free which was cool I guess cuz since I spent the last of my money on this CD. I bought it because I loved the Divinity Syndrome 7" and although this CD is kind of "overproduced" compared to the 7", its still very good and very hard to find.

My first post. Step2Far/Tears of Frustration split

So this is the split 7" with NYC's own Step2Far and Tears of Frustration outta NJ.Both bands play awesome traditional style hardcore. This was recorded in 98 and put out by Guillotine Records out of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn (my hometown) if I'm not mistaken. They also put out a great "zine" it was the closest to a real magazine that I've ever seen. I wish I still had those issues that I did have. My favorite part of this record is the last song The Workers Come First because its not on the 2 cds that I have from them. I've been dying to hear it again and that is why this was my first rip. These are all in 320kbps with high res scans so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Go support Step2Far next month with the legendary Kraut and YDI as well as Everyday Dollars,The Krays, and About to Break
